Don Wede: Okay, May 13, 2026. Here we are the Illinois Valley Sunrise Rotary Group doing Adopt a Highway in LaSalle, Illinois on Route 6 from 251 down to the bridge past Casey’s. What a crew.
We did our job today cleaning up LaSalle. I think we’ve been doing this for about 15 or 20 years at least. We usually do it about twice a year, spring and fall. So that’s this is our group here. Everybody pitched in.
Fire off names as we go here. Beth left to right. My left to right. Beth Coleman, Mark, Tony Bassador, Jen Dudek, Mike Dudek, Stephanie Zowski, Mike Scoa, Jason Kirk — and your videographer for today is Don Wede.
All right, we’re going on one minute. Anybody have anything they want to add? We got some time. Pick up the dead possum. We got a dead rat.
Fireball is a good one. Fireball the drink of choice.
What did you say about the statistics? Yeah, anecdotally, I was going to say smoking cigarettes is down. Been doing this for probably about close to 20 years. About 80% less cigarette butts. Yeah. There you go. Due to vaping is my guess, because I don’t think people stopped with their nicotine habits.
Whatever else — a lot of things, brownies, cookies, didn’t find any marijuana this time. Didn’t find any condoms. We have in the past. Had one vaping plugin, I guess you call it.
Well folks, unless somebody’s got some comments, I’m going to say good night. Sign off.
Oh shoot, he forgot to press. I did, but it stopped. I was trying to think of a gross first name. So…
