Don Wede: Good morning, this is Don Wede with Heartland Funding. It’s December the 3rd, 2018. I’m in Maywood, Illinois. My grandparents, my mom actually grew up down the street a few houses here. And I’m here looking at houses today in Maywood, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago. And here’s kind of a representative home I’m looking for. This one here looks like it’s half rehabbed. I’m going to try to leave a little information on the door. Write down the address, try to get in contact with the owner of it. But in the neighborhood, looking for vacant houses, or just houses to buy to tell you the truth. I’m door knocking today.
I just ran across a gentleman that was doing Meals on Wheels, a young man, I forget his first name, gosh darn it. But just recruited him as a bird dog, I told him that if he finds a house that’s beat up, ugly, run down, vacant, if he gives me the address and I buy it, I’ll give him $100. If he gives me the address and contact information for the owners, if I close I’ll give him 200. And I told him I’ll sweeten the pot for him. If we get an ongoing relationship, I’ll give him $500 on each house. So recruiting bird dogs, door knocking, just trying to expand the business here in Maywood, Illinois.
